Live And Let Live

Something we do a lot as a society, is we love to share our beliefs with others. This is all well and good, but so many people take it several steps too far. We take something that works for us, and we shove it on other people, insisting that if they don't adopt our beliefs then they're doing something wrong.  We often times try to scare other people into believing the same way we do, without taking into account that what works for us might not work as well for someone else. You see this a lot in religion, but it carries over into diets, health choices, hobbies... really anything we do or believe as people.  Lately I've seen a ton of this from vegans (not all, but there's been a rising trend here). I'm not saying a vegan diet is wrong, and I'm also not saying it's right either. It might work well for you, but it might not. I'm personally not vegan, I love to eat meat, but I also love to balance your diet with plenty of fruits/vegetables, and add in meat as well. I read an article today that really hit this topic on the head. They talked a lot about the fear tactics that many vegans are trying to use to scare people into that belief.

Getting away from any specific belief that may look like finger pointing though, here is my main point. In ANY belief that you have, if you have to beg others to share your belief, no matter what reason you're begging them to believe it ("love" is usually the reason I see quoted), it just shows how little you really believe in that point. You are begging for other people to help validate this thing that you've been told is right. It shows that you aren't really that strong in the belief itself, you're only strong in it because there are others who share your belief.  Now, I don't care what you believe, we're all people capable of making our own decisions and figuring out what works for us.  I just ask that you respect and love others' beliefs, appreciate that everyone else has beliefs that are just as valid as your own. If you try to cram your belief down someone else's throat, ask yourself what you would feel like if they did the same to you with their crazy belief that completely goes against your own.

So live and let live. We're all different, but we're all the same, and that's what makes us all so beautiful. If we were all the same there would be no reason for so many people to exist. At the same time though, we're all the same in that we all just want to be happy, we all want to be accepted, we all want to be loved by those around us. So love, accept, and radiate that love everywhere you go. Accept other people for their differences, and know that we all bleed the same red blood. We are all brothers and sisters on this planet, we all have struggles, we all have successes, we all have beliefs.
